Members of our parish family gathered together on Saturday, March 22 for a Lenten Retreat with the theme Ascending Towards the Resurrection (Urcuș Spre Înviere).
The day began with the Divine Liturgy, during which a general memorial service (parastas) was served in commemoration of Memorial Saturday (Sâmbăta Morților). A Lenten buffet meal prepared by our ladies was then shared by everyone in the social hall.
Following the meal, presentations on the retreat theme in both the English and Romanian languages were offered. Many thanks to our special guests Mother Macrina of Holy Dormition Monastery (adults-English language) and Fr. Dan Hoarste (teens), as well as to our assistant priest Fr. Horatiu Balanean (adults-Romanian language) for their reflective and inspiring words.
The younger children present also participated in religious lessons and activities.
The day concluded with Great Vespers and Confessions.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event a success as we increase our effort to focus on our spiritual lives in preparation for the Feast of Christ’s Resurrection. We look forward to more events like this in the future!
