Celebrating Family and Our Youth

On Sunday, May 20 our parish family gathered once again for our annual Family Day Dinner, celebrating both Mothers Day and Fathers Day and marking the end of the 2017-2018 Sunday School year.

After enjoying another delicious meal together, Sunday School Director Psa. Mary Ellen Rosco presented certificates and small gifts to the students and teachers in recognition of their dedication and participation.  Then, Fr. Horatiu thanked and offered a token of thanks (including a small gift from the Men’s Club) to each of the altar boys who assist our priests at services throughout the year.

Mrs. Elena Polocoseri received special recognition and thanks as she retired from teaching Sunday School after 37 years of service, including a large poster signed with well-wishes from a number of her many students over the years.  Mrs. Mary Petroi also received special recognition for her many continued years as a Sunday School teacher.  Many thanks to both of them, as well as all of our other teachers and helpers, for their dedication and love for our children!

Graduating from Sunday School this year, both having gone through the entire program since they were small children, were Julia Devine and Brian Stungu.  Congratulations!

As has become our tradition, in addition to all ladies in attendance receiving flowers from the Youth Group and all men receiving a small gift from the Ladies Auxiliary, special flower arrangements were awarded to the oldest mother in attendance and mother with the youngest child in attendance.

Finally, everyone was treated to a short program of songs and dances by some of our younger children.
