As has become a tradition for several years, clergy and faithful from our parish together with St. George Cathedral in Southfield gathered at the St. Mary Cemetery at Vatra Românească in Grass Lake to hold a memorial “parastas” service and bless the graves of departed loved ones with the greeting “Christ is Risen!”
Attendees braved the cold weather and threatening rain to participate, and then concluded the afternoon with a light memorial luncheon (pomana) of food they brought with them.
