On Thursday, October 5, 2017 our parish hosted the noted biophysician, doctor of bioethics, professor, author and lecturer Dr. Virgiliu Gheorghe. His topic for the evening was The Influence of Mass Media and Communications on Family Life and the Mental Life of Young People.
Dr. Gheorghe, who resides in Romania, was here offering lectures and conferences in various cities across the United States. He also had available some of his books and the publication Familia Ortodoxa (Orthodox Family) of which he is the coordinator.
Approximately 70 people came to hear the free lecture in the Romanian language, assisted by a translator for those who required it. At the end of the formal talk and questions & answers session, attendees had the opportunity to meet with our guest as they enjoyed coffee and refreshments.
