From the Parish Priest – Fr. Romey Rosco
We should be praying every morning and evening, not only for ourselves and our families, but for all those who face tragedy and suffering. Just in the past few weeks, thousands of North Americans have had to leave their homes (and can never return again) due to hurricanes, earthquakes and fires, while others have suffered and died from terrorist attacks. Our prayers are needed – Yours and mine. Can you think of a better reason to pray at home? Do you say your prayers when you awake each morning and upon going to sleep at night? Yes, it’s important to pray together in church on the Lord’s Day, but we should never stop praising the Lord and praying for His strength in times of trouble. We need it; the world needs it. Saint Paul pleads with us to “…pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances… Do not quench the Spirit.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17-19) So, just like your mother used to tell you many years ago: “Say your prayers!”
